Since being elected trustee in 2004 and with the teamwork of my fellow Trustees we

  • implemented the Senior Snow Plowing Program
  • supported the Southern Summit Citizens Police Academy with Barberton and Norton
  • supported the formation of the Southwest Summit Communications Center (SWSCOM) 
  • increased the Community Policing Program
  • hired a Planning Director 
  • updated the Comprehensive Land Use Plan
  • advocated for and approved the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • appointed an Architectural Review Board
  • updated our radio system to P25 thereby controlling our own destiny 
  • established a Hotel Task Force in the Montrose district
  • with Summit County Land Bank grants we removed blight by demolishing condemned and abandoned houses
  • removed an abandoned former bowling alley and indoor soccer building and a used tire sales building
  • continue to protect property values by going after nuisance property owners
  • are working toward a solution to flooding
  • continue to work with Bath and Fairlawn in quarterly meetings for the betterment of the tri-community region
  • encouraged the formation of the Copley Circle Advisory Board
  • adopted a Property Maintenance Code and hired a Code Enforcement Officer
  • purchased properties adjacent to the Town Hall to construct new facilities for police and fire
  • created a Community Improvement Corporation (CIC)
  • reorganized the zoning and planning department into a Community & Economic Development Department 
  • created and filled the position of Director of Economic Development to oversee the department and the CIC
